Dawn Hill publications initially offered me the opportunity to work as an intern graphic designer. I worked here alongside my time at Aim Altitude since the work load was very little, but gave me an opportunity to learn in a professional environment.
Website design
My role
Our new website will see us move from Wix which is a great solution for a new business to WordPress. With strong growth in the last year we outgrew Wix quickly and identified WordPress as the optimal solution. I was tasked with finding a design agency, however after plenty of conversations we realised this would be something we can do in-house. I am currently using Elementor to build a responsive, mobile first designed website.
Amazon Lightsail, is a low cost, high performance hosting solution. Using Bitnami I was able to complete the setup. After a website audit was complete and analysing data from Google Analytics, I identified the right keywords to use and appropriate design language to attract the right audience.

My role
Email campaigns are incredibly important when it comes to keeping your customers up to date with all things DHP. I often collaborate with authors in regards to blogs and look at trending topics that we can discuss, with the aim of relating back to books.
Important strategies such as A/B testing have been implemented to increase OR’s and CTR’s. While this makes our numbers better it also delivers quality content that the user is interested in. I tend to use surveys as a means of segmenting and tagging user groups to improve their experience as well as give them an opportunity to share their feedback.

My role
By cultivating good relationships with freelancers I was able to standardise the VO for our videos. Learning AE and PP was extremely fun, although I realised I need a better computer. With every video I learn more and improve and this really is an exciting project. My tasks include:
- Drawing up list of topics
- Writing and developing script
- Editing all audio
- Creating the video using After Effects and Premiere Pro
- Analysing YouTube analytics data
