AIM ALTITUDE - Cabin design
My role
Industrial Designer
year
July 2019 – May 2020
Worked on aircraft interior products for leading airlines. Projects included Galleys, Bars and seating for various classes, primarily first and business class. During my time at Aim I was also tasked with finalising areas of design and production for our Crystal Cabin entry for 2020. Other tasks included liaising with manufacturers for production of parts as well as other design houses during collaborative projects such as Factorydesign.

Projects
The ones I can talk about...
Vantage Solo
In collaboration with
FACTORYDesign & Thompson Aero Seating
my role
The Vantage Solo seat was an exciting project. I was tasked with finding design and engineering solutions to the problems found with FactoryDesign’s proposal. This was an excellent opportunity to combine the aesthetic and creative element of this proposal and use my engineering and creative skills to find exciting solutions which would turn this vision into a reality. I was also tasked with working on the front side of the monument which I was unfortunately unable to find a render of. That included a drop down table, monitor sourcing and screen design for flight attendant, camera sourcing and implementation for aisle view which would be connected to the monitor.
Crystal Cabin Awards - Ultraflex - 2020 entry
my role
Ultraflex was given the runner up prize in 2019 before my arrival. Due to Covid-19 I am unable to share images of the 2020 entry which is due to be entered in the next event. The 2020 entry project title is REFLEX with the aim of improving on a successful concept. I was tasked with assisting Ross Burns (Head of Industrial Design) to find solutions to various design and engineering problems. My tasks included collaborating with the manufacturing team who would build the concept, sourcing materials and fabrics and graphic design. I was also tasked with designing the exterior graphics for the stand as well as building 3D models for realistic renderings using Vray.
Aeromexico bar refresh
my role
An extremely fun project and the first project where I was given the opportunity to work independently. Aeromexico were looking to standardise their bar across their fleet and include a smaller bar in one of their short haul aircrafts. Using their brief to create a layout I then used their current design language to design a clean and modern bar. Using the blueprint of the aircraft they wished to use this bar in, we were also able to maximise the space provided and deliver extra solutions so they could choose the concept they felt suited their needs.
airbus catalogue
my role
Aim Altitude was given the status of approved vendor in 2019 for Airbus. We were then requested to create a catalogue of our products. These would be standard listings such as, galleys, stowages etc. Working with Airbus was an absolute delight. I enjoyed learning so many technical details, it also helped with other projects to deliver realistic proposals. Using Vray for MODO and Solidworks to create galley and stowage variations, I was able to put together a stylish catalogue for customers which outlined standard listings as well as customisable options. Using human models at the appropriate ares I was able to display scale for a greater level of understanding regarding the size of particular models.
Testimony
Ross Burns - Head of industrial design
Although these are testing times within the travel sector at present, if staffing levels were to rise I would have no issues with reemploying Raghav again back into the AIM ALTITUDE fold. If I can be of any further assistance, or provide you with any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
